Locally led

Trust is built one rooftop at a time.

JuaRise is not run from a distant office. It is led from Nairobi, by people who grew up in the communities we serve.

Paul, JuaRise founder

Founder

Paul

Kikuyu community leader · Nairobi, Kenya

Paul grew up in the hills outside Nairobi, in a Kikuyu family that measured wealth in trust. For more than two decades he has been a builder of small businesses, a quiet mentor to young entrepreneurs, and the person neighbours call first when something is hard.

He started JuaRise after watching the same families he had known all his life lose hours every evening to darkness — or worse, to the fumes of a roaring diesel generator. Solar, he believed, was not just cleaner. It was more dignified.

Today he leads a small Kenyan team of installers, electricians, and storytellers — choosing each home in person, walking each rooftop, and shaking each hand.

How we work

01

Listen first

Every install starts with a visit, a meal, and a long conversation. Need is decided locally — not by a spreadsheet.

02

Build with families

Households help carry, mount, and learn the system. The roof is theirs. The skill stays.

03

Stay close

We service every system we install. Light has to keep arriving, year after year.

A Kenyan team. A Kenyan vision.

JuaRise partners with local technicians, women's cooperatives, and county leaders. We hire from the villages we serve, source as much hardware as possible regionally, and reinvest every shilling we can back into Kenyan hands.
